We believe in an interconnected world. A world where all people have equal access to information and opportunities to communicate, regardless of their income, gender and where they live. This is the very reason of our focus: to provide free and high-quality education for more than 3,800 school children and young people in rural Ghana, every day.

When we started our classes in 2016, our students had never used a computer before. Most of them had never even seen one. Since then, their knowledge has grown exponentially: from using Microsoft Office programs, getting introduced to the world of internet and being able to communicate with people outside their small villages. The whole world of information is now within a click away. We expect to see many Ghanaian software developers, engineers, and graphic designers in the future!

Our work aims to support primarily SDG 9:

”Significantly increase access to information and communications technology and strive to provide universal and affordable access to the internet in least developed countries by 2020.”

What we do

We are currently running three IT for Children Academies, in three villages in the Western Region of Ghana: Busua, Dixcove and Aboade. These academies cover students from nine surrounding communities. We collaborate very closely with local schools where IT teachers in those schools hold their IT classes at our academy. On top of that, we run our own daily after-school program with comprehensive curriculum, where we put much focus on creativity, critical thinking, and grit. We are continuously expanding our operation to cover more communities.

30 students with the best academic achievements and grit are currently awarded our Digital Leader Scholarship. Since the start, we have awarded 58 scholarships in total. The scholarship covers all school-related expenses (fees, books, uniforms) and medical expenses if they get sick or need vaccinations. On top of that, we provide them with nutritious school lunches for free consisting of fish, rice, and vegetables.
